All Kindsa Girls traces the evolution of garage punk through the career of John Felice, who grew up next door to Jonathan Richman and at age 15, founded the Modern Lovers with him, then went on to form his own band the Real Kids. The film features interviews with Richman, Andy Shernoff, Barry Tashian, Willie Alexander, and John Flansburgh, as well as live performances by ex-Teengenerates Fifi & Fink and their new band Firestarter, and the Explosion. Rare footage of Real Kids includes 1978 performance at the Rat in Boston and 1983 performance at LeBataclan in Paris. John’s music has won him admirers around the world and influenced a new generation of musicians, despite its failure to achieve commercial success.
